{Punkin' Makin'}

We decided that painting pumpkins is much easier and more fun than carving pumpkins! This way, Kaya can actually do her own pumpkin without any help.  This year we went to Bill and Rama's house to paint pumpkins. Kaya decided she wanted her pumpkin to look just like her monster hoodie...and she did AWESOME!

{Punkin Chunkin}

We try to go to the Pumpkin Patch each year to pick out the very best pumpkins! It's been tradition to go with the Moss Family and this year was no different. The girls always have such a great time searching for the most perfect pumpkin. This year, Stella thought the most perfect pumpkin was the biggest pumpkin, and Kaya thought the most perfect pumpkin was the most round medium sized pumpkin. They both succeeded in finding their most perfect punkins!  Now for tomorrow...Painting/Carving the pumpkins with the Johnsons!! Pictures to follow.

{It's never too late}

Whenever I think about my daughter, Kaya. My heart almost aches with love. I can't even imagine the love our Savior feels for each of us. That's why I love this quote from one of my favorite people in our Church.

So, in honor of the Halloween spirit (and much to Kaya's begging to put up decorations) I got a little Skeleton to hang on our door. A few days later we got a letter on the door, stating that 'the HOA rules say you can ONLY hang a wreath on the door and nothing else.' That makes absolutely no good sense to me, and it made me quite irritated. So I decided to make my Halloween wreath...There you go HOA. MUCH better....right? 

I know it's kind of hard to see because our door is white and the spider web wreath is also white...but you get the concept. Now we have a skeleton wreath instead of just a skeleton. Hope that makes them happy! :)

{Kaya's new Pa!}

Kaya is one lucky girl. Not only did she get an awesome new Step Dad, but with Greg comes his entire amazing family! Kaya is lucky to see her new Grandparents at least once a week. She has developed a special relationship with them over the last 2 years. Here is a video of some of the tricks that Pa (Bill) does with her when she comes to visit. Thank you Bill and Rama for bringing her into the fold of the very lucky Johnson Grandkids! They are all lucky to have you and we feel especially lucky to have married into such an awesome family!! We LOVE you!! xoxo

On our way home from Idaho, Kaya fell asleep in the car. We were ready to pull over to grab some food so I asked Greg if he would wake her up... Needless to say, she was dead asleep!! Ha Ha, SO funny!!

{Goodbye Grandpa}

Today was my Grandpa Weisenburger's funeral. He died last Saturday October 6, 2012. When I got the phone call that he passed, I guess I was a little surprised. I had seen him earlier this summer for the family reunion in Idaho and he seemed to be pretty spry. Although, I know he has wanted to get back up there with my Grandma ever since she passed away 5 years ago.

I was the first Grandchild to my Grandpa... As the story goes, he wasn't very excited about being called 'Grandpa', so he would say things like.. "Come to Cecil" instead of "Come to Grandpa".. I guess this went on for a little while, and then when he thought no one was looking, he came to get me out of my crib and said, "Come to Grandpa"...My Mom was just around the corner and heard the whole thing... so from then on out he was 'Grandpa'.

My Grandpa loved candy, farming and old cars. Growing up he had an entire warehouse full of old cars that he had restored. Me, Leslie and my cousin Mindy use to play in them (without Grandpa knowing, of course) and pretended that we were driving around in the "olden days". My Grandpa loved his old cars so much that he put one on his headstone.. his favorite car that he had restored. His headstone read "Cecil and JoAnn cruising through eternity."

My Grandpa was definitely a one of a kind. I'm glad he is now back in Heaven where he wants to be, with my Grandma.  

After the funeral we all went back to my Grandparents house. It was kind of weird without either of them there. I wanted to take it all in because I think that will be the last time I see that house. They are planning on selling it along with his old cars and his shop. 

This picture will always be the picture in my head of how I will remember my Grandpa... Giving me 'one for the money' every time I came for a visit.  Here's to you Grandpa... I hope you are with Grandma, and I hope they have licorice and SkipBo in Heaven. XOXO

{Honeymooning in Mexico}

The Honeymoon was awesome! Greg surprised me the first two nights with a stay in Park City at the New Park Resort Hotel... SO NICE! We had so much fun.. it was close to lots of shopping and good places to eat. It had a full kitchen and living room, a hot tub on the balcony and a huge screen TV so we could watch the BYU vs Utah game on Saturday. (Greg is a huge Utes fan!)

Sunday morning we headed to the airport to catch a flight out to LA so we could go cruise the Mexican Riviera. Loved it! Such a perfect honeymoon!

First two stops were in Cabo San Lucas. The first day we went Parasailing. It was so cool... it was fun to be flying up in the sky with my sweetheart! We had our camera up there taking pictures and looking down on the gorgeous blue ocean!

 After we went parasailing, we had the water taxi drop us off at Lover's beach! It is so pretty over there, but so hot.. the sand was burning our feet! We stayed for about an hour and then we were both ready to get back to the ship!

 The second day in Cabo was spent on Sea doo's. We rode all over the ocean near Lover's Beach. When the owner of the Jet Skiing company found out we were on our Honeymoon he said... "OOOhhh, Mucho coochie, choochie!" hahaha We had races and jumped some pretty big waves on our little water cars! After about an hour of riding around we were both pooped! How does riding around in a sea doo make you so tired?! We finished off Cabo by buying some gifts for Kaya and then we were ready to get showered and have dinner on the ship!

We are really high up over a huge ravine! Super scary but such a rush!! Loved it!

They acted as if Greg were the biggest guy they had ever seen. They kept saying "Here comes the big boy!"

After our last stop we had 2 more days at sea before we got back to LA. I got a little bit of cabin fever and there may or may not be a video of me lip syncing to Bruno Mars... and no.. that video will not be included on the blog! haha We had a lot of fun and it was nice to have some time with my new Husband before 'real life' began!  

Thanks for a great Honeymoon and a great life! I love you, Greg... I'm excited to spend the rest of eternity with you!! xoxo
